Singapore’s awful art scene

In January 2015, I went to Singapore to witness the ghastly simulacrum that passes for an art world there. In case you can’t already tell, I was not impressed: after 25 years and a billion dollars, its artists are still censored and oppressed, its institutions weak, its commercial galleries largely risible.
